Stage 2 Designs

Of the 40 architectural firms that submitted conceptual designs in Stage 1 of the competition, five were selected to proceed to Stage 2.

The five shortlisted applicants were invited to develop their concepts, according to the competition conditions and design requirements.

The process for selecting a final winner went through the following steps:

  1. Submissions were evaluated by the competition jury on selection criteria detailed in the Stage 2 documents. The jury selected the winning applicant.
  2. The Minister for Housing and Works awarded the contract, based on the Western Australian Government’s General Conditions of Contract, to the winning competitor.
  3. The completion of schematic design is now due to proceed following the successful conclusion of the competition process.

Please note the competition selected an architect to design a new performing arts venue. The design scheme is subject to change upon development.
